The Carico Lake mine is a turquoise mine in Lander County, Nevada, located on a dried-up lakebed. It is famous for producing both high-quality turquoise in shades from blue to green, and a rare lime-green gemstone called faustite, which is a zinc-rich mineral related to turquoise. The mine also yields rare clam pseudo-morphs,which are fossils filled with turquoise.
